STUVA e.V. and STUVAtec GmbH are using three testing halls with a total ground space of approx. 2000 m².
One of these testing halls is equipped with a special tension capable ground. Its dimension of 22 m x 16 m is enabling a flexible design and configuration of various simple and load-bearing testing facilities. The tension ground is capable of of bearing stresses up to 3 MN/m² in vertical and 4,5 MN/m² in horizontal direction.
These testing facilities are worldwide unique with respect to their specifications:
- Test facility for precast segmental tunnel linings: Testing of circular tunnel linings (max. height = 4 m, outer diameter = approx. 10 to 15 m, max. load 1.000 kN/m²) to determine the deformation at different load situations. The data logging system with approx. 550 data measuring points makes it possible to determine the state of the stress and deformation situation at each second of a running test.
This test facility is currently disassembled.
- Test circuit: Testing of tires, shock-absorbers, pavements, joint sealants of carriageways and road markings under extreme conditions (temperature scope +60 °C to -30 °C, axle load up to 10 t, max. rollover speed 100 km/h). Capable to simulate high traffic load in short testing time.
