Handbook ‘Road Law’ published with STUVA participation

Beck Verlag has just published the handbook ‘Straßenrecht’ (Road Law). The 823-page work was compiled by 22 authors. The only non-lawyer among the authors is Dr Dirk Boenke, head of the STUVA's Transport & Environment department, who as an engineer was able to contribute his extensive expertise on the subject of accessibility.

The new, practice-orientated handbook takes a comprehensive look at road law and all its complex cross-sectional issues. In addition to accessibility, the chapters are dedicated to, among other things

  • the planning of roads with the corresponding references to urban land-use planning and specialised planning law,
  • the interrelationships between road law and all aspects of environmental law,
  • procurement law issues,
  • the interrelationships between private and public construction law,
  • the classic elements of road infrastructure and road traffic law,
  • the important current issues relating to shared mobility services and e-mobility,
  • the financing and management of roads,
  • the important liability issues,
  • the dismantling and removal of roads.

The textbook is aimed at the legal profession and lawyers, public administrators, urban planners, architects and engineers working in cities, municipalities and authorities, as well as judges and associations. The work can be purchased from Beck Verlag at a price of 139 euros.
