InfraTech Young Talent Award 2020 for STUVA employee Christian Rhein

On 15 January 2020, Christian Rhein, M. Sc. was awarded the InfraTech Young Talent Award 2020 for students.

The prize, donated by the Institute for Underground Infrastructure (IKT) and endowed with 1,000 euros, was awarded to the newly qualified engineer during this year's trade fair for road construction and civil engineering "InfraTech 2020" in Essen from the hands of patron Hendrik Wüst, Minister of Transport of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. Christian Rhein was honoured for his master's thesis submitted to the Chair of Tunnelling, Pipeline Construction and Construction Operations at the Ruhr University Bochum in 2019 and rated 0.7 "Investigation of the workability of soil-foam mixtures by applying the penetration test".

The InfraTech Young Talent Award, which was only awarded for the second time, is intended to give the academics of tomorrow the opportunity to set the course for their professional future. Strictly speaking, however, the award comes too late, as the 29-year-old prizewinner had already taken his professional future into his own hands with great success two weeks before the award ceremony: Christian Rhein has been employed as a project engineer at STUVA since 1 January 2020 and will in future be devoting himself primarily to the subject areas of fire protection & safety.

All STUVA colleagues would like to congratulate their new prize winner.
