STUVA-YEP: A look back at our workshop with MC Bauchemie

The presentations were clustered into the topics "Construction materials in tunnelling" and "Construction methods in tunnelling".

In addition to Lars Langmaack from MC Bauchemie, who spoke on topics such as shield tail grease (in the topic block "Construction materials in tunnelling") and soil conditioning/re-conditioning (in the topic block "Construction methods in tunnelling"), we were again able to offer interesting presentations from our community. Tilman Schade (PORR) reported on his experiences with annular gap mortar on the U5 underground line in Frankfurt and Nils Schröder from Wayss & Freytag on annular gap filling in the Ibbenbüren mine water channel. Markus Schade (ZPP Ingenieure) gave an insight into the different methods and materials used for the construction and renovation of media tunnels and large sewer profiles and Christian Rhein from Ruhr University Bochum shed light on the possibilities of analysing and optimising injection systems.

The afternoon was then all about the "hands-on mentality" and the participants were able to see and understand which construction materials can be used in tunnelling and how they should be used by means of interactive practical examples in the MC Bauchemie laboratory. We would like to take this opportunity to thank MC Bauchemie for this more than successful workshop. Thank you for providing the training rooms and, of course, thank you for catering for the participants during the workshop. We will gladly come again.
