Noise and vibration protection in rail transport

Fundamentals of noise and vibration technology - Practical application of noise and vibration protection measures.

This book deals with the entire complex of the generation, propagation and reduction as well as the measurement and evaluation of vibrations, structure-borne noise and airborne noise on railways. Physical and technical issues are included and current regulations are explained. Compared to the previous edition, the book has been extensively updated and expanded in many areas. The result is a new standard work for noise and vibration protection in rail transport.

Dr Friedrich Krüger was head of the noise and vibration technology group at STUVA, Cologne, for many years. His tasks included working on R&D projects, primarily on the topics of noise and vibration emissions and immissions, determining the reduction potential of different track types, forecasting and evaluating vibrations and secondary noise, and curve noise. He prepares expert reports on these topics and participates in national and international standardisation committees.
