Swiss Tunnel Congress 2026

The Swiss Tunnel Congress (STC) 2026 will take place from 16 to 17 June 2026. During this period, the KKL Lucerne will once again become the centre of the international tunnelling community. The excursions associated with the STC will be held on 18 June 2026. Following the very positive feedback on the newly introduced dual event format at the recent Swiss Tunnel Day 2025 in Biel, participation in the STC 2026 will also be possible both on site and online.

In general, the Swiss Tunnelling Society has set itself ambitious goals for the upcoming event and is looking forward to a lively exchange among tunnelling professionals. A matter of particular importance to the organisers is the involvement of young professionals in the tunnelling community, as the future undoubtedly belongs to the younger generation! The congress therefore aims to provide an ideal platform to connect young talents with experienced experts and to lay the foundation for tomorrow’s projects.

The colloquium on 16 June will focus on the latest developments in mechanised tunnelling, microtunnelling and pipe jacking. On 17 June, a wide range of national and international projects will be presented with first-hand insights:

  • Mattertal Tunnel
  • Ligerz Tunnel
  • Semmering, Contract SBT1.1 Gloggnitz Tunnel (Austria)
  • Lötschberg Base Line, Geneva Underground Station, Subproject Access Tunnel “Lausanne”
  • Brüttener Tunnel
  • Second Tube of the Gotthard Tunnel
  • Fideriser Tunnel
  • St. Pauli Elbe Tunnel (Germany)

A special highlight awaits participants on the excursion day (18 June 2026). The excursions will take them to the northern section of the Second Tube of the Gotthard Tunnel, to the Ligerz Tunnel and to the Kaiserstuhl Tunnel. Participants will be offered exclusive insights into the current construction sites.
